During an emergency, mobile pharmacies operate under temporary allowances to ensure medication access. Once the emergency ends, there is a mandated wind-down period in which the mobile pharmacy must cease activity within two days. This keeps patient access from being disrupted while promptly returning to normal regulation, allowing prescriptions to be transferred to standard pharmacies, records properly closed or transferred, and the mobile unit to be decommissioned under regular licensing. The two-day window strikes a balance between continuing care during the transition and avoiding prolonged, unregulated mobile dispensing.
